Alva Church - Alva, FL

I Description of property

This wonderful old Florida church seemed to be the ideal roost for several hundred free-tailed bats.

II Description of problem

The bats chose to roost at the highest point, just under the large cross on the top of the steeple.

Unfortunately as the colony grew over time, so did the amount of droppings that were piling at the front entrance. Finally after it became a concern for people visiting the church, the church decided to move the bats along.

III Method used

With the use of an 85 foot lift, we were able to gain access to the area and exclude the bats safely and successfully.

IV Unique attributes of project

The size of the colony and the amount of work area were not of much concern. However, the problem was that the entry point the bats were using was at the highest point of the structure.

V Project duration

This job was completed in 3 hours!
